Welcome to our Family's Blog with Papa Vernon, Mama Yoko, sister Ashley Hikari (辉莉) and Baby Brandon Satoshi (智)

Here we hope to share the blessings and goodness of God in our lives, through pictures and video clips, with our family and friends living here in Singapore, Japan and around the world.

MEANING OF THEIR NAMES
“Hikari” means LIGHT – “…but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” – Ephesians 5:8

“Satoshi” means WISDOM – “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52

DID YOU KNOW THAT ...?

(1) "Household of Faith" (by Steve Green) was sang at Daddy and Mommy's wedding...? The other song was "For The Glory of the Lord (by Twila Paris). By the way, they were married on February 11.

(2) Instead of exchanging gifts on daddy and mommy's wedding anniversary in February, they decided to take family portrait - and this has become a family tradition!

(3) Ashley was born on 11/11/11 - that is, Nov 11 and in the 11th year of the current Heisei Era in Japan.

(4) Both Ashley and Brandon were induced and born one day after their due date.

(5) Daddy and Mommy were baptized on the same day (26 September 1992) in Arizona along their friends, Kris and Sat.

(6) Daddy drove a used police car he got at an auction when he was studying in Arizona.

(7) Mommy was daddy's Japanese language teacher when he took Japanese 101 and 102 at Mesa Community College in Summer 1994. None of his classmates knew that they were dating at that time.

(8) Mommy used to compete in Ballroom dancing during her university days.

(9) Mommy & Daddy moved 4 times before settling in their very own home at Woodlands Circle (Pasir Ris > Yishun > Bukit Batok > Clementi Ave 5 > Clementi West St 2 > Woodlands Circle >

(10) Mommy went back to work (in Nov 2008) after being a stay-home mom for almost 10 years.

(11) Ashley was baptized on 20 December 2009. Daddy had the privilege of baptizing her baby girl.
